Homeowners looking for a touch of luxury in their garden need look no further than a Southdown Shepherds Hut manufactured using Marleys Cedral Weatherboard.
The beautiful mobile buildings are an ideal solution for those who want to enjoy their new bolt-hole without having to worry about the time consuming chore of repainting and maintaining its exterior.
Thats because Cedral Weatherboard is made from fibre cement, which is resistant to rot and maintains its look even in the harshest weather conditions. Cedral Weatherboard also provides a traditional appearance because its subtle surface texture provides the visual impression of timber, but without the need for ongoing maintenance and repainting.
Southdown Shepherds Huts combine authentic features with modern high-quality interiors and can be used for a number of purposes including; home office, childrens playroom, guest accommodation and artist studio. They are made using carefully selected materials to ensure owners have a low-maintenance building that retains a traditional appearance.
The walls of the shepherds huts are constructed by nailing the Cedral Weatherboard in a shiplap configuration to a treated pine frame. The walls and floors are insulated with 70mm PUR polyurethane board, whilst the roof incorporates 70mm sheep wool insulation. The interior walls are lined with moisture resistant tongue and groove Neatmatch Boarding and the floor is brushed and oiled engineered oak.
We construct all our shepherds huts using Cedral Weatherboard because it looks like traditional weatherboarding but doesnt have any of the ongoing maintenance issues associated with painted timber, said Catherine Casey, Director at Southdown Shepherds Huts. Our aim is to build huts that have a beautiful traditional appearance and the surface finish on Cedral Weatherboard is indistinguishable from timber - we also liked the range of colours offered by Marley.
Cedral Weatherboard can be used in the same way as timber and is available in a range of 22 colours and four woodstains. It also has excellent environmental credentials it can achieve an A+ rating as defined in the BREs Green Guide to Specification*.
