Metal powdercoating for National Institute for the Blind

Metal powdercoating for National Institute for the Blind

Batchglow were asked to provide powder coating for metal handrails for the National Institute for the Blind.

The handrails were required for a new build care home for the blind, based in Nottingham. The handrails were featured throughout the building and in the garden.

A durable finish was specified, one often used on bus and rail handrails. This plastic coating is ideal for balustrades and rails particularly those in hard environments.

According to current Disabled Persons access regulations handrails are required to be warm to tough and non-slip. This means the use of a nylon coating was the ideal solution.

This was a great opportunity for Batchglow to demonstrate that the end product would not only comply with the relevant legislation but also provide the required durability.

Having met this challenge the project was completed with minimum fuss to the main contactor on site within his own call off programme.
