Metal Technology has supplied over £2m (installed value) of their System 5-20Hi+(high insulation) tilt and Turn windows to Stockport Homes’ recently completed, £24m refurbishment scheme at Mottram St in Stockport - a project which has been a catalyst for renewal in the area around the A6 road through the town.

More than 2000 Metal Technology windows were installed on four apartment blocks in a 12 month programme designed to upgrade the flats’ energy efficiency and external appearance. Extra investment in aesthetic values was made as these four blocks overlook the A6, with rainscreen cladding adding the final touches.

System 5-20Hi+ A rated, High insulation, thermally broken Tilt and Turn windows are ideal for projects such as the Mottram Street refurbishment. Designed with sustainability in mind, the system enables the specifier to meet the latest thermal requirements of building regulations while giving the added benefits of ventilation and the ability to clean the windows from inside the building. In addition, this system has passed BS 7950 “Specification for Enhanced Security Performance” as generally accepted on Secure by Design projects.
