The company has used its design expertise and physical crash tests to produce a barrier that doesn't require a foundation in the roadway, yet offers outstanding protection against extreme aggressive vehicle attacks. It is proven to withstand large vehicle attack and still remain operational after impact.
Its design means that momentum is dissipated outwards through the barrier to side catcher frames that absorb impact stresses. These catcher frames are simple to install with relatively shallow foundations and importantly no roadway foundation - so site operations are not unduly disrupted during installation and total costs are minimised. The EB950 is suitable for a wide range of sites, especially those where services such as gas, water and electricity are installed under the roadway and need not be affected by installation.
Philip Jeffrey, Technical Director of Avon Barrier Company Ltd said; "The EB950 represents an important step forward to the wider number of sites now requiring high-level security capable of stopping aggressive vehicle attacks. The combination of lower cost, compared to other barrier systems, and ease of installation without the need for roadway foundations marks the new EB950 as an outstanding solution."
The EB950 features push button hydraulic power with a 6 second operation. All components are manufactured in the UK from heavy-gauge materials and finished with zinc coating and polyester powder top coating. The barrier can be connected to a variety of access control technology via the PLC controller.
