Nordlux were thrilled to announce that their Mobile pendant, designed by Danish designer Maria Berntsen, won a Red Dot Design Award back in 2022. This win marked the sixth consecutive year that Design For The People had been awarded with a Red Dot Design Award. This time for the unique Mobile pendant – the result of a close and valuable collaboration with Danish designer Maria Berntsen.

The Red Dot Design Award is a prestigious award given for outstanding design and quality. Only products, projects and concepts that stand out with their exceptional design are awarded this coveted seal of quality by an international jury.

"The idea behind Mobile was to create a flexible and expressive pendant with a pleasant, indirect light. With Mobile you have the unique opportunity to create just the light you want, as you can change the light expression by moving the top shade up and down. The movement gives Mobile a personal and unique expression. Mobile has a simple, yet elegant design expression. The soft lines, rounded shapes and elegant brass detail provides Mobile with a light appearance that elegantly frames the light without blocking the view.

The light is beautifully reflected from the bottom shade onto the opalized top shade, emitting an indirect and pleasant light. What makes Mobile truly unique is the interactive and playful design, where you can easily adjust the shades closer together for a centred, downward light or further apart for a more diffused light spreading out into the room.
