Aggregate Industries were able to offer easy accessibility to customer services and technical teams and therefore provide intelligent resourcefulness to deliver a range of products that met the criteria required from a large construction project
The MoD wanted a prestigious landscape with over 30,000m2 of paving, including a combination of both permeable and non-permeable paving for car parks, road areas and footpaths. Natural stone paving was required for the high profile areas, both externally and internally.
The project was a £690million PFI contract for the delivery of a new defence office and accommodation complex for 2,200 military and civilian staff in Wiltshire. The project consolidated four sites and relocated the car parking away from buildings. The area was also environmentally sensitive.
Aggregate Industries worked closely with the main contractor and developed new products to reduce the overall cost of the project by around £80,000 and meet the strict local authority planning restrictions plus giving the contractor the benefit of sourcing all the products from one manufacturer.
The products included Aggregate Industries Moordale, Natural Sandstone, Parliament, Infilta, Andover, Grassgrid, Tactile, Countryside Kerb, Granite Kerb, Block Kerb and sourcing a new natural stone paving.
