Modular solution for Eye Clinic

Modular solution for Eye Clinic

Elliott was specified to design and build a new two storey Clinical Support Unit at Pinderfields Hospital, Wakefield.

Elliott constructed the building, which contained an advanced eye clinic and office space, with an Ibex steel frame modular building system which allowed large elements to be completed offsite.

The façade was clad in facing brick, render and Trespa panels. Ducted air conditioning was installed to manage internal environments.

Elliot completed the project in 32 weeks including site remediation and external works. The short turnaround time meant reduced disruption to the hospital site.

Elliott included increases insulation, low energy lighting, energy efficient heating and water saving technology to ensure sustainability.

The building was designed to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating.

Kevin Oxley, Director of Operations for Clinical Support and Facilities commented: "This unit provides high quality clinical and non-clinical office accommodation for staff who are currently based within these ward areas. This building will provide an improved working environment."
