Motoring ahead with Hüppe Variflex at The British Motor Museum

Style have installed two Hüppe Variflex semi-automatic, glazed moveable walls for the British Motor Museum.

The museum recently opened its new hospitality and event facilities as part of a £2m refurbishment programme.

The Sky Suite, a showcase area, is located on the top floor with magnificent panoramic views over the Warwickshire countryside.

The toughened glass panels allow the area to be quickly adapted to meet the needs of the day and are manually manoeuvred along a whisper-quiet tracking system.

Once in place, seals automatically expand to exactly the required pressure to ensure acoustics between the divided areas.

Style worked directly with the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust to deliver the best moveable wall solution to complement the bright and airy design, as well as create flexible space.

Mike Fine, Style’s director for the Midlands said: “There was a real desire for flexibility, light, a feel of space and a sense of panache with this installation.”

“The Variflex is a superb glazed, acoustic moveable wall and the client was delighted with the 47dB Rw acoustic integrity. The two toughened glass partitions deliver the required sound privacy whilst maintaining the openness of the suite.”

Style is the exclusive UK partner to Dorma Hüppe, Skyfold and SWG, enabling architects, specifiers, contractors and end-user clients to benefit from an extensive portfolio of manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic solid and glazed moveable walls for any requirement or budget.
