Type of works: supply and installation of the Airblade hand dryer.
Nandos is a nationwide restaurant operator with 160 outlets across the UK, employing more than 5,000 people. Famed for its trademark PERi-PERi chicken and relaxed dining, Nandos launched in the UK in 1993.
Jonathan Cope, Nandos Project Manager, was keen to upgrade hand-drying facilities across the Nandos network. Poor washroom facilities can affect the customer experience of any business, but is particularly important in the restaurant trade where hygiene is paramount.
Previously, Nandos restaurants had been equipped with conventional hot-air hand dryers, but they had proved an inefficient and expensive solution. Mr Cope wanted a stylish, well-designed unit that worked effectively.
Mr Cope had already looked at a range of hand dryers and had even trialled some, but they proved to be noisy and failed to make a good impression with customers.
He then turned his attention to the Airblade hand dryer. Following a demonstration, Mr Cope was impressed with the products modern technology, hygiene properties and cost efficiency.
He immediately arranged to put the Airblade hand dryer through a two-month trial at a Nandos restaurant in Putney, London.
Mr Cope says: It is clearly a stylish product from a great brand. It is funky and fits the profile of our restaurants.
Customers, staff and even mystery shoppers have been very impressed with the Airblade hand dryers.
To date, 27 Airblade hand dryers have been installed in 12 Nandos outlets across the UK, with units being installed in all new builds.
Jonathan Cope adds: Theyre fantastic, everyone loves them, for mystery shoppers to comment on hand dryers is unheard of. We would absolutely recommend the Airblade hand dryer to any business that wants an effective and hygienic hand drying solution."
