Royston Smith MP has praised the ‘invaluable contribution’ Aggregate Industries’ Eastleigh depot has made to the building and maintenance of the region’s vital infrastructure of roads, schools and hospitals.

Mr Smith, who has been a Conservative MP for Southampton Itchen since 2015, visited the depot in the Tower Industrial Estate to meet with the concrete and aggregate production team and tour the site. As part of the successful visit, Mr Smith also took part in an engaging roundtable discussion with key Aggregate Industries’ staff such as regional operations manager Ben Greet and site manager Steve Jones to better understand how the operational side of building materials industry works.

Ben Greet, regional operations manager for concrete at Aggregate Industries, said: “We were delighted that Mr Smith was able to join us at our Eastleigh site and see first-hand how the aggregates and concrete we supply has helped to build and maintain much of region’s vital infrastructure including roads, schools and hospitals".
