Hunter Douglas Wood Ceilings are increasingly being specified on a wide range of Sports and Leisure projects, thanks to their natural ability to provide a warm and ambient finish for almost any ceiling environment.

The wood ceiling range is available in three key systems, linear open, linear closed and grid. Each system can be enhanced with concave, convex and undulating designs that are made possible by the Hunter Douglas specially engineered ceiling carrier system.

All wood products are sourced from FSC controlled forests which provide an extensive range of wood species that allow the specifier to choose between the deep colour hues associated with red cedar and mahogany or the softer light wood tones that are found with poplar, maple and pine. These colours can be further enhanced with the application of translucent lacquers and stains dependant on the environment in which the ceiling has been specified. In high fire risk areas the wood panels can be pressure treated with a special fire retardant.

The growing emphasis on sustainability has seen an increase in the use of wood as a material for ceiling design and Hunter Douglas are experiencing a renewed interest in wood ceilings across a diverse range of projects that include restaurants, swimming pools, gymnasiums, and leisure centres.
