Neaco’s contemporary handrails and balustrades have contributed to an award-winning development at the new Barker’s Furniture Store in Northallerton.
Designed by SP&Architects and constructed by Wharton Construction Ltd, the store’s mixture of new build and refurbishment won Best commercial building/scheme in the North & East Yorkshire region at Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Building Excellence Awards 2016. Neaco’s Quad stanchion was specified with tubular top rails and toughened glass infills to provide a contemporary solution on an internal stairway and mezzanine floor.
Nigel Peacock of SP&Architects said: “We are very pleased with the excellent aesthetic of Neaco’s balustrade which contributed significantly to the urban industrial themed interior design. The development has now been forwarded as a finalist in the LABC’s national awards which are taking place in November.”
Jeff Cutting of Wharton Construction said: “The client is over the moon with the result of the redevelopment and Neaco’s service was very involved from start to finish. They attended regular on-site meetings to discuss the installation details and dealt with any issues quickly and effectively.”
Neaco offers a range of balustrade and balconies available in stainless steel or aluminium powder coated in a choice of solid colour, metallic colour and wood-effect finishes combined with a wide choice of infills, including vertical or horizontal rails, perforated panels, tension wire, toughened glass panels (in-line or offset) and mesh. The company also offers structural and semi-structural glass balustrade. The systems are extremely durable and maintenance-free with modular components assembled using internal fixtures rather than welding or hot works.
