New accommodation for Chelsea Roadsweepers' team

New accommodation for Chelsea Roadsweepers' team

Av Danzer has the new welfare units for the construction team building a rock salt depot on Lots Road in London for Kensington and Chelsea Council. The seven OpenSpace units were delivered to site from the Nottingham production depot and the team carefully installed them on a steel gantry to make the best use of available space.

The facilities include toilets, washrooms, male and female showers, changing room spaces, lockers and recreational space which will be used by the council’s road sweeping staff. One unusual feature of the project included knee operated taps for the hand basins. The delivery time took just 4 weeks in total, proving Danzer ensures a fast turnaround.

This project was interesting because of the very tight deadlines involved and also because of the evolving specification. A number of the units were linked and stacked to form further office facilities for the depot staff. The deadline was very much driven by the fact that the Council had to relocate from a current facility and transfer all staff, equipment together with 2,000 tonnes of road salt by the end of September.

If Danzer hadn't provided the facility within the 4 week timeframe, Chelsea & Kensington’s road maintenance would have ground to a halt.
