NorDan, leading provider of high performance environmentally-friendly timber windows and doors, is greener than ever as it now supplies all its double- and triple-glazed units with Argon gas filling as standard, giving improved insulation performance at no extra cost.
The move to Argon as standard further improves the base-line quality of NorDans timber doors and windows, already acknowledged by specifiers to be of superior manufacture and specified wherever high performance windows are required.
Argon offers excellent thermal performance and cost-efficiency in comparison to other gases and is especially thermally efficient when combined with low-emissivity coated glass. Colourless, odourless, non-flammable and non-reactive, it reduces heat loss by slowing convection inside the windows cavity, improving insulation and boosting energy efficiency.
The improved insulation also has the effect of raising the inner glass temperature, which, together with NorDans use of warm edge spacers in the construction of its glazing units, eliminates or substantially reduces condensation, creating a healthier and more comfortable indoor environment.
Dareth Daley, NorDan UKs sales and marketing director, comments: With the need to improve the energy efficiency of buildings, meet targets for the reduction of CO2 emissions and reduce consumption of fossil fuels, NorDans switch to Argon filled units as standard is good news for specifiers and for the environment.
