Helo (UK) has re-designed the entire health suite at Pendle Wavelengths leisure centre in Nelson. In August 2015 the health suite was destroyed by fire leaving just a shell space. Helo re-designed the space with the original experiences to comply with the like for like insurance requirements but were also able to make huge improvements in the aesthetics of the rooms and space.

Helo used wide glass fronts to the thermal rooms and showers. This created a spacious feel and expressed the finishes within each room. The open feeling allows bathers to gauge occupancy levels at a glance and therefore feel comfortable in their choice of thermal experience. Large format tiles with decorative mosaic banding run throughout the design in subtly varying tones. The centrepiece Vitality spa sets off the whole scheme which surpasses many a luxury hotel health suite.
