The launch of AluK’s new Heritage door has added fresh momentum to the fast-growing steel replacement and industrial-style glazing market.
Installers and fabricators working in this space now have access to a fully suited window and door solution from trusted UK manufacturer.
The Heritage Door and Window are ideal for both traditional refurbishment projects and design-led new builds that demand that ever-popular slimline aesthetic. While the appeal of classic steel-framed doors and windows never seems to fade, aluminium ‘steel-look’ systems like this offer a more practical and cost-effective alternative. They recreate the elegant, narrow sightlines of steel, but with added benefits such as improved thermal performance, increased durability, and a more competitive price point.
AluK’s new Heritage door is manufactured using their tried-and-tested 58BW system and features slim 51.7mm sightlines. It’s suitable for both single and double door configurations and can be combined with matching fixed light transoms to create fully glazed façades.
With 43mm fixed light sightlines and 66mm frame-to-vent on the window, the suite delivers strong design continuity, particularly for whole-house installations or high-spec projects seeking a coherent glazing solution.
The availability of period-inspired hardware in finishes like antique bronze and heritage black adds to the visual appeal, while stock finishes such as matt black are available on short lead times.
Importantly, both the Heritage door and window deliver U-values of 1.4 W/m²K (double glazed) while the 58BW ST window achieves 1.1 W/m²K (triple glazed), meeting all current Part L requirements.
With interest growing across both the residential and commercial sectors, AluK’s Heritage suite combines on-period aesthetics with energy-efficiency and performance.
