New Schlüter solutions for barrier-free showers

Schlüter-Systems is delivering intelligent detail solutions for building floor-level showers with their new splash protection profiles.

The new profiles include Schlüter®-SHOWERPROFILE-WS and –WSK, the linear drainage KERDI-LINE in lengths from 130 to 180 cm for constructing larger shower installations and a linear drainage with an eccentric, vertical drain.

These prevent water from flowing out of the shower area. The support profiles, made of high-quality anodised aluminium, are either embedded in the tile adhesive (SHOWERPROFILE-WS) or subsequently adhered to an existing covering (SHOWERPROFILE-WSK). They can be fitted with either a semi-circular or an upright rubber lip to protect against splashing.

All variants of the profile are designed to withstand wheelchair use. The straight lip uprights itself after being stepped on or moved over and both types of sealing lips are easy to replace. Thus, the intelligent splash protection profiles provide greater safety in the bathroom and significantly reduce the risk of slipping.

With the new linear drainages Schlüter®-KERDI-LINE, Schlüter-System has made expedient additions to its program for floor-level showers with horizontal and vertical drains. These drainages allow for creating shower installations with the intelligent system solution in larger spaces or with large-format tiles–for example in case of replacing a bathtub with a barrier-free shower.

The linear drainage KERDI-LINE-VOS was developed for scenarios in which the drain connection cannot be established in the centre of the drainage channel. The product has an eccentric vertical drain and thus increases the flexibility of installers for building floor-level showers.
