Type of works: installation of a TORMAX RONDOR sliding door.
Delivering the grandeur of a traditional revolving door but with a contemporary spin, the TORMAX RONDOR recently installed at the entrance to the Newcastle Marriott MetroCentre Hotel creates a dramatic entrance lobby that also helps cut heat-loss from the building. Replacing standard sliding doors, the RONDOR is not only more prestigious but also offers a 50% larger opening space.
Set next to the MetroCentre, Europes largest leisure and retail complex, the four-star Marriott Hotel offers exceptional service and amenities including 150 guest bedrooms as well as extensive conference and meeting facilities. Better reflecting the status of the hotel, the refurbished TORMAX entrance is an impressive 3.5m in diameter and consists of two sets of curved bi-parting doors that work in tandem to create a circular pod that offers ample space for hotel guests arriving with luggage.
In near-constant use, the Marriott RONDOR relies on two TORMAX TEP operators to open the doors, smoothly and silently. Hidden from view in the circular casing, these high-performing operators have been tried and tested in hectic locations worldwide and represent a gold-standard for the industry. Easily adjusted through key-pad operation, opening times can be adapted depending on foot-traffic and weather. Helping cut the hotels heating costs, an airlock can effectively be created between the two sets of bi-parting doors, particularly useful on wet and windy days.
TORMAX offers a complete range of entrance systems to match the requirements of almost any location including revolving, folding and swing doors. Recently launched iMotion technology, makes TORMAX entrances even more efficient, reliable and easy-to-operate whilst also fulfilling todays demand a sustainable solution.
