A NewMotion survey shows, with the help of over 30,000 smart electric charge points throughout Europe, customers save 60% more a month since switching to using electric vehicles.
NewMotion offer over 30,000 cloud-connected smart charge points and has over 80,000 registered charge cards throughout Europe, for both private and business users.
The company asked over 5,000 users about their electric vehicle usage to gain insight into the growing EV supply market. The survey showed that of current New Motion customers, 82% were men over 41, who were either married or in long term relationships. 94% of EV users surveyed were from households or two or more.
57% of respondents use their EV to commute to work, and a quarter of users estimate that they save up to 60% monthly compared to using a traditional fuel car.
The results of the survey showed that the total cost of ownership of an EV is lower than fuel vehicles, including lower maintenance costs, insurance, taxes and additional government subsidies. When comparing two electric cars currently on the market, it was proven that the costs of powering an EV was up to £500 less per year.
Sander van der Veen, UK Country Manager at NewMotion commented: “The EV market is changing dramatically. With the arrival of affordable EV cars, increased government subsidies and investment into infrastructure, we’re starting to see the beginning of the electric vehicle revolution.”
