Nexen, Buzzard Oil Field

Type of works: design and manufacture of certified fire- and blast-walls and external doors.

Booth was awarded the design and manufacture for Nexon Petroleum (formerly Encana) for certified fire- and blast-walls covering over 6,400 m2 and 84 fire doors for the Buzzard offshore oilfield in the North Sea. The walls covered the quarters and utilities, Wellhead and process modules and doors for the above, including the living quarters. Booth provided the supply to the following fabrication yards Hereema, Burntisland and SLP in the UK and Dragados in Spain. Fabricated in stainless steel, the Booth fire and blast walls and external doors provided protection up to H60 fire resistance and 100kPa blast resistance. Internal doors were fabricated in carbon steel.
