Norbord donated Sterling OSB to charity art exhibition

Norbord has donated a pack of Sterling OSB to a charity art exhibition and sale in aid of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices.

Church Walks Charities was set up in 1 999 to raise funds for local causes in and around the Suffolk market town of Bury St Edmunds. To date, the organisation has raised over £72,000 through a variety of events and campaigns.

Display panels for the first exhibition were borrowed from a local college, but with plans to make it a regular event, Church Walks Charities has decided that it should now make its own.

After a visit to local builders merchant, Ridgeons, Ms Legg’s fellow organiser, Simon Harding, decided that panels of OSB would be the ideal material.

“Norbord’s SterlingOSB 1 5mm boards are perfect for picture display when erected vertically, freestanding in a zigzag and joined with lift-off hinges. 5 Pictures can be hung with safety on both sides giving the viewer privacy” says Mr Harding.

“OSB 1 5mm is ideal for us as it is rigid and we have to mount lift-off hinges. The extra thickness will allow a stronger fixing” says Mr Harding.

In response to a request from Mr Harding, Norbord agreed to sponsor the charity art exhibition and donate a pack of Sterling OSB.

“In between our charity art shows we plan to loan these boards to schools and disabled groups free of charge and for commercial shows, making a small charge for charity” says Mr Harding.
