Type of works: installation of Faber vertical blinds and Faber 1800 blackout blinds.

The Northampton PFI Schools Project is currently the largest PFI education project in England and includes both refurbishments and new builds for 41 schools in the Northampton area, providing extra space for teaching, special needs provision, nurseries, sports halls, gymnasia and many other facilities. The schools will need to meet all the current building regulation requirements in terms of heating, lighting and ventilation, and the installation of specialist blinds forms part of this significant project.

Faber used the Faber vertical blinds with Nature fabric for the main low-level window areas, providing an excellent level of environmental control and comfort for both students and staff. The Faber 1800 blackout roller blinds were specified for a number of areas, including the sports and assembly halls, where the ability to control and maximise natural daylight was required.
