Nottingham Breast Institute
Client: Nottingham City Hospital
Contractor: Baggaley Construction
Sub contractor: Browne Structures
Type of works: supply of an Ancon tension system.
An Ancon tension system has been installed in the glazed atrium entrance of the new Nottingham Breast Institute at the Nottingham City Hospital.
Ancon tension systems provide a high load capacity and can meet the demanding aesthetic requirements of todays architectural applications.
The system comprises a stylish range of fork connectors, locking nuts and bars. The slender profile of the system ensures the maximum transmission of light when used in conjunction with areas of glazing. In addition to providing the necessary restraint against wind loads, Ancon tie bars can enhance the overall appearance of a structure.
This stainless steel tension system was supplied to steelwork subcontractor Browne Structures. The projects main contractor was Baggaley Construction.
