Office Washroom Project

Office Washroom Project

These office washrooms could service up to 30 members of staff in any one day, so had to be robust as well as easy to clean and maintain.

The project
A newly renovated building in Gravesend, Kent provided a modern, open plan working space for a dynamic office-based team. The building’s existing washrooms were outdated, so a complete overhaul of both the layouts and systems was required.

The challenge
The office washrooms could service up to 30 members of staff in any one day, so had to be robust as well as easy to clean and maintain.

The management team were conscious of their colleagues’ need for privacy whilst using the washroom facilities, so a full height cubicle system was specified. The open plan office is a modern space, so it was only right that the décor of the new washrooms mirrored this.

The solution
Unity Full Height cubicles were the perfect fit for these new office toilets, providing all members of staff with maximum privacy. A minimal and modern aesthetic has been achieved thanks to Unity’s floating, flush-fronted doors and pilasters.

The cubicle doors, pilasters and partitions were all specified in High Pressure Laminate (HPL) in our ‘Dark Walnut’ and ‘Cloud’ laminates. HPL is a highly durable material which will withstand the demands of the new washroom facilities.

The stylish new toilet cubicles have subtly concealed, anti-tamper aluminium fittings along with emergency release indicator bolts that allow safe access to locked cubicles in the event of an emergency, an unrivalled feature for busy washroom areas.

Our cutting-edge pre-plumbed panelling system, Vepps, was installed twice as fast as plain panel alternatives in the new washrooms. All sanitaryware was pre-plumbed and rigorously tested at our manufacturing facility before being installed onsite. Not stopping there, Vepps’ 90° linear bearing hinges remove the need to manually remove panels when carrying out ongoing maintenance work, which avoids misalignment or potential damage.

WC and urinal sensor flushes means water wastage is minimal, as the amount of water necessary to flush is regulated. Sensor technology is a great choice for commercial spaces such as offices, as it reduces the need for human contact and in turn cutting down the risk of germs transferring from person to person.
