Origin Windows chosen for a Luxury Mansion Makeover

Origin Windows chosen for a Luxury Mansion Makeover

A Buckinghamshire based property developer transformed a dated bungalow into a deluxe 6 bedroom mansion by completely rebuilding it and introducing premium quality bi-folding doors and windows, manufactured by Origin.

Mr. Chambers bought the detached bungalow in a small village in Buckinghamshire in January 2013, and demolished it in July 2013.

The bi-fold doors and windows were an early consideration given the fact that they have been placed as the focal points in many of the rooms.

Facing out to the drive is thestriking Origin gable window, standing tall at almost 2 metres high and 4 metres wide which looks into the grand hallway.

Also visible on the front of the house is the stunning bay set, compromising of 2 layers of 7 window frames coupled together.

For a symmetrical look from the outside, the two bedrooms on the first floor which are located on the front of the house both feature Origin French doors with a fixed pane either side, allowing the occupants of those rooms to enjoy a stunning view from their bedroom.

A 6 door set of bi-fold doors span across a huge aperture of 4950mm in the main living room.

The window style featured in the kitchen comprises of 5 fixed window casements with one opener in the middle, giving an effective way to offer a wall of glass for a stunning view where entry is not needed.

This effect has also been used in 4 other rooms of the house including the games room, the downstairs bedroom, office and the secondary living area.

The corner set of bi-fold doors in the kitchen has a 3+2 configuration, which are able to be completely opened up.

The master bedroom hosts the largest set of French doors with fixed panes spanning across 3600mm of the room.

Each bedroom has its own ensuite which includes a fixed sash window with a top opener on top, finished with smoked glass to ensure the room still gets light, while maintaining privacy.

On choosing Origin to provide the windows and doors, Mr Chambers said: “I will buy something if there’s value to it. There are usually cheaper options available, but more often than not, they don’t live up to the service and quality you come to expect”

Mr. Chambers is looking to sell the house in February for in excess of £3million.
