MEDITE SMARTPLY

SMARTPLY Oriented Strand Board (OSB) is the versatile, cost effective and environmentally friendly alternative to plywood. It is manufactured by compressing precisely engineered strands of woods with exterior resins at high temperature to create an incredibly strong and versatile panel. SMARTPLY is made from sustainable, fast-growing timber, as MEDITE only use forest thinnings of new-growth pine and spruce, including the tops which are not used to make any other wood-based product.

This is one of the main reasons why SMARTPLY is increasingly being used instead of plywood, which by contrast use large logs cut from old forests.

They produce two grades of SMARTPLY: MAX and ULTIMA. Each is made with a specific resin, has no structural defects such as knotholes and core voids and is simple to work with. It cuts easily, will not delaminate, and can be bored, routed and planed with consistent results. Panels can be nailed 10mm from the edge without spilling or breaking out - critical to structural applications.

SMARTPLY OSB structural panels meet the criteria of today’s demanding construction standards. Manufactured to European Standard EN300, they satisfy BS5268 Part 2 (Structural uses of Timber - Code of practice for permissible stress design, materials, and workmanship).

SMARTPLY AIRTIGHT
SMARTPLY AIRTIGHT is a structural OSB panel with integrated vapour control and air barrier properties for use as structural sheathing in timber frame structures.

Airtightness is engineered into the OSB panel substrate, whilst SMARTPLY's in-house speciality surfacing technology provides an integrated vapour barrier with consistently high vapour resistance over the entire surface.

SMARTPLY ULTIMA
SMARTPLY ULTIMA is an extremely high-performance engineered wood panel (OSB4) suitable for the most demanding structural applications in offsite manufacturing and construction.

SMARTPLY MAX
SMARTPLY MAX is a strong, versatile board suitable for structural use in humid conditions (service Class 1 and 2), ideal for applications as diverse as roofing, flooring, hoarding and wall sheathing.

In keeping with current construction methods of working towards healthier environments, all SMARTPLY MAX panel products have been manufactured using zero-added formaldehyde.

SMARTPLY MAX FR B (Flame Retardant)
SMARTPLY MAX FR B Flame Retardant panel is a structural, moisture resistant OSB/3 panel with outstanding and reliable reaction to fire properties. Ideal for use where strength, moisture resistance and improved flame retardance are paramount. SMARTPLY MAX FR B achieves a Reaction to Fire Classification of B-s2, d0, and Bfl-s1 (flooring) in accordance with EN13501-1.

SMARTPLY MAX FR/FR BUILD (Flame Retardant)
SMARTPLY MAX FR/FR BUILD is a flame retardant panel developed in response to the STA’s (Structural Timber Association) “Design guide to separating distances during construction” for timber frame buildings above 600m2 total floor area.

Added during panel production, Zeroignition® Solution – a water-based and eco-friendly fire retardant penetrates the wood strands to ensure comprehensive and reliable fire performance whilst fully maintaining structural integrity.

SMARTPLY MAX MULTI
SMARTPLY MAX MULTI is an OSB3 board which has been primed and finished on one face and all edges, perfect for a wide range of applications.

SMARTPLY MAX T&G
SMARTPLY MAX T&G is a strong, versatile structural board suitable for use in humid conditions (Service Class 1 & 2).

Manufactured to the same exacting standards as SMARTPLY MAX but with the addition of tongue and grooved edges.

SMARTPLY PATTRESS PLUS
SMARTPLY PATTRESS PLUS is an engineered OSB3 panel incorporating a continuous recess, designed to accommodate 'C' shaped metal studs used in the construction of plasterboard partitions.

SMARTPLY SITEPROTECT
SMARTPLY SITEPROTECT is a coated hoarding panel, designed to save you time and money. The SMARTPLY OSB3 substrate has been primed with a smooth heavy duty cross-linked polymer surface treatment.

SMARTPLY SITEPROTECT PLUS
SMARTPLY SITEPROTECT PLUS is a double-sided coated hoarding panel, designed to save you time and money. SMARTPLY OSB3 substrate has been coated with a smooth heavy-duty exterior cross-linked polymer surface treatment.

SMARTPLY STRONGDECK
SMARTPLY STRONGDECK is an extremely high-performance engineered wood panel suitable for the most demanding structural applications. It is manufactured using state of the art ContiRoll® technology consisting of moisture resistant and formaldehyde-free bonding of wood strands, precision strand orientation and continuous pressing.
