Miko were called in by the head teacher of Oxbridge school, on Tesside. The Primary school required a canopy that would supply the children’s parents with shelter from the harsh weather while they were waiting and a canopy that would also double up as an outdoor teaching area.

Oxbridge school had already been disappointed by another canopy company that informed the Head Teacher that there was nothing they could do and were unable to supply the children with a new outdoor teaching space. However, Miko’s engineers were able to not only provide a canopy which measured 10m x 7.5m but were also able to delight Mrs Moffitt with a solution which not only provided a large canopy within her school yard but also one which looked great with its multi-coloured powder coated finish.

Miko designed and installed the canopy. The area that has now been transformed was simply another area of the playground but was used by the parents as the main pick up point for their children. Now it brightens up the playground with the rainbow that stretches across the shelter. The children are now protected when playing outdoors in the rain and also the sun, with its anti UV cladding. There is now a fantastic area for the children to work and play in, whatever the weather, as well as an area for up to 60 parents to wait away from the elements.
