The Peninsula Hotel is a striking mixed-use development housed within a single building arranged around a central courtyard. The design encompasses a lower ground level, ground floor, eight upper floors, a rooftop plant, and basements, creating a dynamic urban structure that integrates hospitality, residential, and leisure functions seamlessly.
This landmark hotel is set to become a new, world-class 21st-century establishment in London. It will feature 190 elegantly designed guest rooms alongside exceptional amenities such as a collection of restaurants, a luxurious spa, and a grand ballroom. In addition, the building will offer 24–28 modern apartments, catering to those seeking both short-term accommodation and long-term residence.
Inspired by the grandeur of the Italian Renaissance palazzo, the design process involved extensive consultation with Historic England and Westminster City Council. This collaborative approach ensured that every architectural detail paid homage to London’s rich heritage while embracing contemporary design standards. Construction work commenced on-site in 2017, marking the beginning of a transformative project that marries tradition with modernity.
A significant highlight of the project is the façade stonework, which has been completed by Grants of Shoreditch. Albion Stone has supplied approximately 10,000m² of Jordans and Bowers Basebed. The use of these premium stones not only adds aesthetic value but also reinforces the building’s durability and timeless elegance, making it a true architectural gem in the heart of London.
Overall, the Peninsula Hotel stands as a testament to innovative design and meticulous craftsmanship, offering a unique blend of luxury, functionality, and historical reverence.
