Artform have supplied a collection of seating and picnic benches for Heriot-Watt University’s Edinburgh Campus. The University required new seating for an internal project to renovate a key area of the campus grounds.
A range of Performance Concrete products were suggested as a low maintenance solution that would both look uniform and clean. Stone Benches were supplied with a velvet feel finish and were carefully lifted into place. The Twin Picnic Sets, supplied with the Mizar bollard as a complementary stool, were installed in different configurations to create visual interest and to provide plenty of separate seating areas.
External spaces designed for socialising and relaxation are an important aspect of University life. Heriot-Watt’s new outdoor break-out spots will help to improve students' mental health and encourage more time outside.
The Heriot-Watt Edinburgh Campus has 380 acres of parkland along with a wide range of services and facilities for students. This includes a recently refurbished library and common learning areas, sports facilities and even a healthcare resource.
The University was founded in 1821 and has a rich heritage. It’s esteemed for its pioneering research development with a focus on global business and industry. The University has expanded over the years and currently has 3 UK campuses as well as foundations in Dubai and Malaysia with a global student programme.
