Type of works: supply and installation of two sets of double-leaf TORMAX iMotion^® 2301 sliding doors.

Two sets of double-leaf TORMAX iMotion^® 2301 sliding doors have been installed to the main reception entrance of the new and prestigious Performing Arts Centre at Royal Russell School, creating an internal lobby area which effectively cuts heat-loss from the building. VINCI Construction UK specified the iMotion^® automatic door system which is precision-engineered for maximum operational efficiently and low energy consumption, making a further positive contribution to the environmental impact of the school whilst having the added benefit of encouraging a smooth flow of pedestrian traffic at all times.

These high torque door operators require only minimal maintenance as they are entirely gearless and brushless and so have no parts that can wear out. Highly sophisticated motion sensors ensure precise, safe operation whilst a self-monitoring system automatically adapts operation to take account of factors such as a build up of dirt, which may otherwise cause door movement to slow. As a final tick in the ‘environmental’ box, iMotion^® operators are almost entirely manufactured using recyclable material. As with all TORMAX doors the iMotion^® 2301 is fully compliant with current disability discrimination legislation and is suitable for either single- or double-leaf sliding doors with a telescopic option available for where space is at a premium.
