Period Thatch Cottage with Bronze Casements

Period Thatch Cottage with Bronze Casements

This renovation project involved the replacement of all windows with bronze casements. Architectural Bronze Casements were specified to use their Advanced System which is designed to accept a deeper double glazed unit.

The front elevation featured casements with diamond lead detailing and to the rear all windows had horizontal transoms. Surrounds were either stone or timber. Decorative bronze beading secures the glass in place, resulting in a particularly attractive profile when viewed from the outside. This style of window works very well in this property and the different styles of glazing meant that the owners had more privacy from the front and were able to view the garden clearer to the rear of the property with the simpler design.
