Westminster City Council has completed the latest phase of its £12.7 million programme to modernise public conveniences across the West End, unveiling newly refurbished facilities at the Grade II‑listed Piccadilly Circus Underground Station. As part of the upgrade, KEMMLIT UK supplied all new toilet cubicles, urinal modesty screens, and duct panel systems, delivering a high‑quality, durable, and contemporary washroom solution for one of London’s busiest transport hubs.

The refurbishment includes upgraded male and female toilets, a family changing room, and improved baby‑changing amenities. KEMMLIT UK’s Classic Cell in stainless steel was selected for it's robust construction, hygienic performance, and long‑lasting architectural finish, ensuring the facilities can withstand the exceptionally high footfall associated with Piccadilly Circus.

A key feature of the project is the integration of a new public artwork by London‑based artist James Lambert, celebrating the cultural heritage and energy of Piccadilly Circus. KEMMLIT UK’s sleek cubicle and duct panel systems were designed to complement the artwork and the historic underground structure, blending modern engineering with the station’s iconic character.

The refurbishment marks the third council‑owned public toilet to reopen under Westminster’s improvement programme, following upgrades at Victoria Embankment and Parliament Street. The initiative aims to deliver cleaner, safer, more accessible, and more visually appealing public conveniences across central London.
