Elements Europe working in collaboration with Leadbitter has manufactured a 101 bedroom Premier Inn hotel in Coventry.

This scheme will be a further extension of Elements Europe’s experience in delivering on behalf of the Whitbread Premier Inn hotel brand. A relationship which has seen the development of new sites implementing the Solopod and Roompod off-site construction systems.

The Project

The £ 1.2 million project saw Elements Europe provide 59 bathroom pods using our Solopod system and 42 bedroom modules using our Roompod system. The roof structure and the plant rooms were also supplied to Leadbitter by Elements Europe, which were incorporated as part of the structure using Elements Europe’s Strucmet product.

The hotel is located in the City College, The Butts; it originally opened in 1935 during the height of the art deco movement. The scheme combines ultra modern bedroom and bathroom pods which were designed sympathetically and in-line with the original features which included coloured leaded windows and column flooring.

The building was extended from a 2 storey structure by placing a steel grillage over the existing second floor accommodation. This allowed a third floor of Roompods to be installed. Elements Europe also manufactured and installed a modularised roofing cassette system to assist the main contractor.
