Job: supply and installation of Jakoustic® barrier fencing to reduce noise pollution from a nearby road.
With the increase in traffic over the last 30 years, Stone Street in Canterbury, Kent, has gone from a relatively quiet country lane, to a busy main road, with cars travelling at speeds in excess of 50mph. Traffic noise has become a real nuisance for some of the residents, who can no longer enjoy a comfortable conversation in their gardens above the disturbance from the nearby road. For the owners of a private property backing onto Stone street, the solution was close to hand from Jacksons Fencing and its Jakoustic Barrier system.
The owners, residents of the area for the last 30 years, considered two options: moving house, or installing a second line of fencing along the foot of their garden. The second option had been considered at length and they were investigating the possibility of an acoustic infill between the two fences to help deaden the noise.
As existing Jacksons customers, with a 30 year old Jacksons fence and two garden gates, the owners decided to consult the companys latest brochure, where they discovered that acoustic barriers were now being offered to the domestic market. Traditionally a motorway-fencing system, Jacksons has developed this idea to suit any application, with timber slotted posts, and panels made of 34mm thick boards in an attractive tongued-and-grooved design, all guaranteed for 25 years.
Jacksons Fencing installed the Jakoustic Barriers earlier this year, and the owners are overjoyed at the huge difference these have made to the sound levels in their garden, commenting, Now the traffic noise is on the road, not in the garden!
Friends and neighbours have admired the attractive appearance of the fence, and the dramatic reduction in noise pollution that it has affected.
The owners are already considering further improvements to their garden, now that they feel comfortable in it, and recommend Jakoustic Barriers to anyone needing protection against noise pollution.
