Puustelli Miinus is a carbon-neutral low-VOC flood resilient kitchen range that is the result of a €1.5 million investment made in 2010 by Puustelli, Finland’s largest and most respected manufacturer of kitchens. Puustelli is a family enterprise established in 1920 that is committed to the wellbeing of people and the environment. The Miinus kitchen is a unique kitchen. Only materials, components and production methods that are the most ecological have been selected for the Miinus kitchen.

Calculations have considered the entire lifecycle of Miinus kitchen furniture, including raw materials, components, manufacture, processes, and transport. Familiar production materials have had to be removed and more ecological solutions found to replace them. The most innovative example of this is the injection moulded bio-composite frame which contains zero formaldehyde and zero VOCs.

A Miinus kitchen is durable, long-lasting, and modifiable. A Miinus kitchen is responsibly and non-toxically made, making a positive contribution to lowering indoor air pollution. All the materials used are re-usable and recyclable. The Miinus kitchen has good flood resilience qualities which is why it has been used in The BRE Flood Resilient Repair Home project.
