Clearstone installed permeable resin bound paving for a luxurious Oxfordshire Estate.

Well Barn House is a magnificent Georgian style residence. The 1200-acre estate is both a family home and a prestigious venue. The homeowners needed hardwearing paving that would look beautiful and allow water to drain through to prevent puddling. The new paving also needed to be tough and longlasting.

Clearstone installed permeable resin bound paving in Spruce – a colour that perfectly complements the golden stone of Well Barn House. To ensure that rainwater would drain through, the original tired bonded surface and non-porous asphalt were stripped away. Then a sub-base of new porous Asphalt was laid onto which Clearstone craftsmen hand trowelled the resin bound to create a smooth, hard-wearing and permeable gravel surface.

A feature of Well Barn’s spectacular night-time appeal are up-lighters which dramatically highlight the warm Cotswold stone. The flexibility of resin bound allowed Clearstone’s professionals to seamlessly integrate these up-lighters into the paving.

To prevent disruption to the family, the homeowners went on holiday while the resin bound was installed. Clearstone pulled out all the stops and the family came home to find their beautiful resin bound drive installed and ready for use – despite their return ahead of schedule.
