Residents at Risedale’s Abbey Meadow can now benefit from increased comfort and dignity thanks to the state of the art ArjoHuntleigh equipment they have installed in the new £5 million purpose built nursing/care home in Barrow–in-Furness, Cumbria.
Risedale Estates Ltd has been in the Care business for more than 20 years. Since opening their first 40-bed retirement home in 1987, seven other properties have been redeveloped, and have been equipped with the latest patient handling and hygiene systems from ArjoHuntleigh, the latest home being Abbey Meadow.
Director of Risedale Estates, Charles Dent, has been a valued customer of ArjoHuntleigh for many years, “When we first started out in the care home business, we analysed all equipment suppliers and found that ArjoHuntleigh were at the forefront of the industry with suitable patient handling equipment for our clients needs and at the right price”, commented Charles. Amongst the first bathing products purchased by Risedale Estates was the ArjoHuntleigh Autolift bathing aid. The management team at Risedale has a policy to update their equipment on a regular basis with the latest and most advanced patient handling products on the market. This program has now seen the Autolifts being replaced with the latest version of the ArjoHuntleigh Malibu bath.
The Malibu is a well established assisted bathing system which provides a safe and comfortable bathing experience, whilst enhancing the quality of life for not only the residents, but also the carers. The Malibu seat transfer unit eliminates the need for manual lifting; the whole procedure is carried out using the handset control. With the height-adjustable model, the bath can also be adjusted to an ergonomically correct working height.
