Client: Renaissance Room
Type of works: design and installation of an extended ladies washroom that enhances the facilities of the rollerdisco venue. Design and products are considerate to the users being on roller skates; as such, tall toilet pans and support bars were included.
The design had to be in keeping with the classic seventies theme and the client requested the base colour for the new design to be Pink. As part of the changes, the existing ladies toilets was to be expanded and the entrance door moved to a more central and accessible location by the dance floor. Previous experience has shown that water trails are currently created from the existing ladies toilet area into the main large communal spaces, so measures to reduce or stop this occurring were proposed.
IGLOOS introduced the Pink colour scheme to this design in two ways: the use of Hot Pink on the cubicle doors and vanity units and the use of a Baby Pink shade on the walls. Ensuring the rooms were kept within the 70s retro theme, IGLOOS introduced a Bright White to contrast with the two shades of Pink.
Funky grab rails were introduced within the cubicles as requested, along with concealed cisterns to maintain hygiene and simple maintenance.
The vanity units were designed at an angle, leaving the top of the unit wider than the bottom, preventing kick marks from unsteady users. Dyson hand dryers, infra-red taps and under-mounted hand basins were installed to give a high-quality finish. This finish was complimented using chrome soap and toilet roll dispensers throughout.
To finish this project a disco ball mirror surround with lights was designed around the mirror to add a 'wow factor' to the room and compliment the disco atmosphere in the main hall.
