Rolls-Royce, Derby

Rolls-Royce, Derby

The project.

Luxury British car and aero-engine manufacturer, Rolls-Royce, was established in 1904 with their manufacturing facility opening in Derby 4 years later. Originally designed by Henry Royce himself, the factory and office space is still fully functioning where pioneering motor and aviation technology is constantly being developed.

The challenge.

The existing washrooms were antiquated and hard for the facilities team to maintain. Systems that could withstand extremely high footfall in busy factory and office buildings were required. It was crucial the systems delivered strength, durability and style in equal measure.
Venesta’s accredited Installers T-IPS were tasked with specifying and installing fit-for-purpose toilet cubicle, washroom panelling, vanity unit and locker solutions suitable for the busy factory and office staff areas.

The solution.

With a need for strength, metal-framed Centurion toilet cubicles were specified for Rolls-Royce’s washrooms, with the high strength fluted satin anodised aluminium pilasters extending to the floor for maximum rigidity. Combining durability with safety, Centurion boasts emergency release indicator bolts so speedy and safe access can be gained to locked cubicles.

Venesta’s metal-framed made to measure panelling system Frameduct was specified in matching ‘Gunmetal’ high pressure laminate (HPL), which meant the client had the flexibility to specify their own onsite plumbed WCs.
Complementing HPL vanity units with fully inset basins were specified in ‘Gunmetal’ with ‘Cloud’ underpanels. HPL is recommended for busy washrooms such as these, as it’s a high strength and impact resistant material. HPL also boasts a smooth surface, meaning it’s an easy material to keep clean.

Rolls-Royce also specified Venesta’s solid grade laminate (SGL) Active Lockers* with cam locks and blue wristbands for their staff changing areas. The tried and tested lockers seamlessly fit and enhance the new washrooms in the office and factory areas and are totally impervious to water, meaning they can withstand the regular cleaning that’s necessary to adhere to the brand’s standards.

Venesta are thrilled to see their washroom systems installed in a key building for such a prestigious British brand.
