Type of works: Junckers supplied sustainable flooring for several areas of the Royal Bank of Scotlands new Gogaburn development.
Junckers floors are widely used at the Royal Bank of Scotland's (RBS) new Gogaburn development. As the new headquarters for RBS, the world's fifth largest bank, the project employs the highest environmental standards throughout.
Occupying a 100 acre site just outside Edinburgh, Gogaburn is an innovative work/life environment for over 3,000 workers. The main building's seven business houses surround a covered retail area and the campus has its own transport links in addition to nursery, health, leisure and conference facilities.
Architect RHWL, working with project architect Michael Laird Partnership, specified Junckers floors for several areas. To meet the projects environmental requirements, Junckers had to demonstrate the sustainability of all of its floors, which were also submitted for and passed extensive safety and slip tests. 2,000m2 of Junckers' solid Jatoba Wide Board flooring is used in offices, corridors, walkways and conference areas in the main office block, with 280m2 of Junckers' solid oak in the Bar Bistro area and 340m2 of premium beech in the fitness club.
