Project
RBLI’s Centenary Village supports military veterans and their families through accessible, purpose-built homes and assisted living accommodation.
The development has a state-of-the-art community centre providing support to those who need it most.
D+H UK provided natural smoke ventilation systems within two new blocks at Centenary Village, helping create a safer living environment for military veterans and their families.
Natural Smoke & Heat Exhaust Ventilators (NSHEVs)
D+H UK’s NSHEVs fit seamlessly into the design of the buildings. Their dual-colour dark grey exterior with natural and white interior options match the building materials perfectly. Dual-coloured Georgian bars were added to provide the desired effect.
D+H UK are flexible when it comes to our range of NSHEVs, working with clients to find the solution that best fits the design.
System
NSHEV rooflights provide ventilation to the communal staircases.
Five corridors are ventilated through the façade using NSHEV windows. Another is ventilated at roof level via an NSHEV dome vent.
Two internal smoke shafts serve corridors on 3 levels. There are two shaft dampers located on each floor, with NSHEV roof louvres at the head of the shafts.
The systems are controlled by multizone panels. Call point units are located in each zone.
