A flagship bird hide that provides panoramic views over London has been given a new lease of life with Sadolin Classic from Crown Paints. Providing an urban oasis for wildlife and people the London Wetland Centre - located just 10 minutes from Hammersmith - is managed by conservation charity the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT).
Its location means the building is exposed to severe weather conditions and over the years the timbers had become weathered. Sadolin Classic was applied to the wood to provide a protective finish. The shade, Smokey Blue, was selected to blend in with the natural environment.
Sadolin Classic is a highly versatile woodstain which is ideal for use on decking, cladding and fencing. It absorbs deeply into the timber to provide exceptional protection against the weather. John Arbon of WWT London Wetland Centre, said: “The hide is looking terrific now and we’re delighted with the result. We are very grateful for the donation. Peacock Hide is now protected for many years to come and the Sadolin Classic has applied very well.”
