The Client: Albert Avenue Swimming Pool in Hull, has recently had a £10.5 million transformation. The project has seen construction of a new state of the art gym and fitness studio, as well as a refresh of the two existing indoor swimming pools.

Their Brief: Sanitaryware was required for whole building, including the outside lido area and needed to be hardwearing to withstand high public use and a robust cleaning regime. Water efficiency was also high on the agenda to help reduce on-going costs and minimise environmental impact.

The Solution: The Sanitaryware Companies SanCeram Chartham and Marden ranges were specified for this project alongside their Inta shower panels. Their SanCeram range is hardwearing and durable as well as being cost effective. Several water saving products were also specified to help reduce ongoing water consumption.

The SanCeram Chartham Back to Wall Toilet Pan paired with the Tyde OSMO® T1 Concealed Cistern were used for the WC’s throughout the building. The modern robust WC has smooth lines giving dirt nowhere to hide and the fully WRAS approved cistern was supplied pre-assembled for quick and easy installation. To help with water saving, the Tyde Piazza Dual Flush Push Button, has dual flush operation, for a full and water saving reduced flush. In the men’s toilets, the SanCeram Chartham Exposed Trap Urinals were specified.

For the hand washing facilities, the SanCeram Marden Square 460mm Semi-recessed Basin and the SanCeram Non Concussive Basin Mixer Tap were used. The basin offers a minimalistic design and bottom outlet for ease of maintenance. Whilst the tap is DDA compliant, has press action operation and the self-closing function ensures no excess water wastage to help with water saving.

The lnta I-Sport Shower Panel’s were used for both the inside and outside showering facilities. The all-in-one compact design has a push button timed flow control & fixed shower head.

SanCeram Doc M Packs and SanCeram Doc M Shower Packs were used throughout the public building to ensure compliancy. The WC packs include a rimless WC ideal for water saving and increased hygiene. The Wall Hung Doc M Pack was supplied with stylish Chrome grab rails and a metal back rest and bottle trap and the Back to Wall Doc M Pack was supplied with white grab rails and back rest. The Doc M and DDA compliant shower pack has a concealed shower valve, with grabrails and a shower curtain rail in white, with a fold down seat and backrest in grey.
