The magnificent Dudbrook Hall originally built in the 1600’s has recently seen a new 62 bedroom care home built to the rear, with the generous landscaped gardens built in the current grounds. The new care home provides residents with state of the art facilities including an in house café, hair salon and therapy room to name but a few.
Their Brief:
Sanitaryware was required for the whole building including all 62 resident ensuite bathrooms, assisted bathrooms and disabled WC’s. These areas needed to be fit for purpose for the elderly residents with grab rails required throughout and easy to use taps.
The Solution:
The Sanitaryware Companies SanCeram and Ideal Standard ranges were selected for this project. All taps supplied were DDA compliant ensuring easy operation for residents, whilst the rimless WC’s offer increased hygiene and help reduce water usage.
The SanCeram Chartham Wall Hung 450mm Basin that is ideal for use in small spaces, with a sleek, easy to clean design was paired with Deva Short Lever Basin Taps. These taps are DDA compliant and have smooth, easy operation for residents and are WRAS approved.
For the WCs, the Ideal Standard i.life A Close Coupled Toilet Bowl with B 4/2.6 Litre Dual Flush Close Coupled Cistern was selected. The rimless technology offers users increased hygiene as well as water saving for the care home. Also in the ensuite bathrooms the SanCeram Thermostatic Bar Shower Pack with Pressalit Folding Shower Seat was used. This pack contains everything needed including; bar shower valve, headset, hose and rail, with the added bonus of being WRAS approved. The folding shower seat also has a 650mm projection for good side transfers for residents.
SanCeram Grab Rails, both straight and hinged were used throughout the whole building in various colours. These are both Doc M, DDA and HBN compliant to ensure all compliances were met.
