Sandtex Trade scaled new heights to revamp a Central London office block – without a ladder in sight.
20 Farringdon Road has been transformed into a contemporary workplace in the heart of the city following a stylish refurbishment project undertaken by specialist abseiling contractors Rubynest.
Their specialist ‘working at height’ team worked from temporary cradles to apply the Sandtex Trade trims system to metalwork on the building’s windows.
Sandtex Trade Rust Inhibiting Primer Undercoat, Flexible Primer Undercoat and Eggshell X-Tra were used to create the on-trend black finish.
An adhesion promoting formulation which provides the premium foundation for Sandtex Trade Eggshell X-Tra, Rust Inhibiting Primer Undercoat was used on the deteriorated areas of the metal work.
Sandtex Trade Flexible Primer Undercoat was then selected for application on the rest of the building, due to its ability to flex with the substrate and alleviate flaking and cracking.
The project was completed with Sandtex Trade Eggshell X-tra, which features a smooth and extra durable formulation offering long-term protection, with added inhibitors to reduce the impact of UV damage.
Tom Lulham, Director at Rubynest, said: “We found the Sandtex Trade products to be very good and the viscosity of the product was great.
“The technical help and support we received was also excellent.
“Products were delivered straight to site and we’re very happy with the product selection on this job.”
Sharon Smith, Sandtex Brand Manager, said: “It’s great that our products have played a major role in transforming this building.
“The windows are now protected for the long term and the end result looks superb.”
