Sapphire Balustrades, the leading UK manufacturer and installer of premium balustrade systems, is increasing production significantly at its Southern branch in Reading. The decision to expand capacity follows the growing demand for its premium range of high quality balustrades. Its also part of a strategic plan to focus manufacturing, streamline the business and maximise efficiency.
Marketing Manger Nick Haughton explains: Sapphire is having a successful 2011. Architects, contractors and specifiers know about us and the way we work, our flexible service and support, technical knowledge and extensive range of high spec products, so we are their first point of call when they have a requirement. Our products are specified across a range of high profile projects within the retail, residential and other key sectors.
Rapidly growing sales have prompted us to review our manufacturing capabilities as we move into the future. We decided to invest a considerable sum in new automated machinery to maximise efficiency, drive down the costs and lead times for our customers, and keep ahead of demand. continues Nick. We feel this is a great opportunity for us. The investment will allow us to more than double our current capacity in Reading. Products currently manufactured at our Banbury factory will be transferred over to the automated factory in Reading to streamline operations and make us more effective in satisfying our customer needs. Its a move we think will yield substantial benefits as we continue to grow and develop.
