Type of works: supplied Em-Glaze® mono-pitched continuous rooflights
This school in Essex had numerous single skin glass mono-pitched units over classrooms and toilet blocks. They required upgrading to comply with current building regulations, within a short half term holiday, minimising internal disruption, whilst maintaining the original appearance.
Whitesales Em-Glaze® mono-pitched continuous rooflights were chosen as the ideal product for this project. The double glazed units comprise of 6mm outer toughened, 18mm argon filled cavity and 6.4mm laminated inner. Installed with thermally enhanced aluminium glazing bars and flashing, these units have a thermal transmission of 1.4W/m²k, sound reduction rating of 34dB and a light transmission of 85%.
The bespoke construction of Em-Glaze® continuous rooflights enabled Whitesales to manufacture to exactly the right size, contributing to a fast-track installation within the project deadline. The glazing specification complied with all relevant building regulation and also is Non-Fragile impact resistant. Combined with a guarantee of 10 years and a life expectancy of 25 years, these units are recyclable, which contributes to a minimal environmental impact.
