Schueco and Geoff Ogilvy: Teeing Off Together for Successful Climate Protection

The world-class golfer is the new international brand ambassador for Schueco and will take part in the second annual Schueco Open on June 28 in Halle, Westphalia.

Geoff Ogilvy joined the illustrious circle of major tournament winners after emerging victoriously in the 2006 US Open. As one of the world’s best golfers, Geoff has now joined the team of international Schueco brand ambassadors. After Martin Kaymer, Bernhard Langer, Colin Montgomerie, Migel Ángel Jiménez and Grégory Havret, the 32 year old is yet another world-class golfer teeing off for sustainable climate protection. Schueco, the world’s market leader for innovative solar and window systems, has been involved in international golf sponsorships since 2008.

Geoff Ogilvy has won seven tournaments on the US PGA Tour, as well as the 2008 Australian PGA Championship. With one win already in 2010, Geoff currently holds the 11th spot on the Official World Golf Ranking. “Schueco stands for clean energy, and I am proud to officially represent this philosophy. Golf is a great way for Schueco to elevate their communication for climate sustainability. As a golfer and especially as a father, climate protection is a very personal matter and I am convinced that no one represents this issue with more credibility than Schueco.”

The President and CEO of Schueco International KG, Dirk U. Hindrichs, expressed his thoughts about the committed golfer: “Geoff Ogilvy is a world-class, ambitious golfer who has had many accomplishments on the Tour and who is particularly well liked in the U.S. He has a strong personality with a high degree of credibility and is an excellent representative of Schueco’s mission, Energy2 - saving energy and generating energy. Geoff’s approach to the game, passion and determination reflect many of Schueco’s values, making him a credible source to help convey our brands’ messages.

"We are striving to help reduce CO2 emmissions by 80% and in the process prevent global temperatures from increasing any more than 2º Celcius. To do this, we are offering state-of-the-art, energy conserving, window and facade technology as well as efficient solar solutions."
