Quality and reliability at an extremely competitive price persuaded Newport City Council to specify Schuecos TTC 50 low-rise aluminium facade system for a refurbishment project at Lliswerry High School in Gwent.
The contract, which also included the removal of asbestos cladding and the replacement of fascias, involved replacing the windows/curtain walling in the schools dining room.
Rob Mills, Newports Education Maintenance Officer, commented: I have used Schueco systems on other jobs and Ive always been impressed by their quality. The introduction of the TTC 50 system means that even when budgets are tight, Schueco is easily affordable. I also like the high-level openers, which are on a camstay: they provide good ventilation without compromising security.
The Schueco TTC 50 system offers a slimline 50 mm face-width and a typical frame U value of 1.64Wm2/K. It is able to accommodate buildings up to three storeys in height, which makes it ideal for a wide variety of local authority, healthcare and commercial projects. It was installed by Schuecos fabricator-partner, White Brothers & Speed.
