SE Controls, has been nominated for the Digital Revolution Awards in the Tech for Good category. This nomination celebrates their efforts to digitalise operations, products, solutions, and processes, enhancing life safety through cutting-edge smoke ventilation solutions that comply with current regulation and are future proofed against future regulations.
They are pleased to announce that, in partnership with Nexer Group, SE Controls has recently been nominated for the Digital Revolution Awards in the Tech for Good category. The nomination is based on their work and investment to radically digitalise their business operations, manufactured products, solutions and business processes. These advancements enable us to offer improved life safety through industry leading smoke ventilation solutions that comply with the latest legislation and are future proofed against changes in regulations.
The Digital Revolution Awards is a global initiative that recognises excellence in the technology and IT field. As a not-for-profit event, it also raises money to support good causes – specifically The Teenage Cancer Trust and St Martin’s School in Nairobi, Kenya, which helps provide a better future for children in one of the poorest areas of the city. Through Tree-Nation, the organisers also plant a tree for every award submission they receive to help fight climate change. In line with this. the Tech for Good category looks for individuals or businesses who are using technology to make a positive impact in society.
At SE Controls, they have been moving towards increased digitalisation over the last 10 years, both with business operations and their product offering. For more than a decade they have been developing intelligent products that can generate data about themselves. These products can provide data on their current status, performance, potential faults and when maintenance will be due.
However, this digital capability has become even more important in the UK with the introduction of the Building Safety Act and its requirement for those responsible for high rise residential buildings to maintain a digital golden thread of information. This serves as a single source of truth for all the relevant current and historic data about the building. Fire safety products can provide full and up to date information about their status and performance are invaluable in fulfilling this requirement and ensuring peace of mind for building owners, managers and residents.
It became clear that comprehensive digitalisation of their systems was required to fully utilise and integrate this product generated data with other relevant information such as technical product information, manufacturing records, test reports and maintenance certificates. Specifically, they needed to implement customer relationship management (CRM) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions that could support the next phase of their offering to customers.
They engaged with Nexer Group, experts in the strategic integration of technology solutions, to implement the required systems. The digitalisation project was a major two year process and involved a close cooperation between their internal subject matter experts and Nexer’s consultants. They are pleased to say it has been a huge success, with immediate benefits for customers and significant time saved for their teams.
Beyond the direct advantages, the digitalisation of their systems has aligned their IT infrastructure with their long-term strategic goals and built the foundation for developing the next generation of products and solutions. Taking a holistic approach, these will utilise the latest in cutting edge technology to drive improvements in life safety and ultimately, contribute to shaping the future of the industry for the better.
